When we think of volunteers we always think of the quote
by Albert Schweitzer, "Do something for somebody every day for
which you do not get paid."
Volunteers understand this quote better
than anyone else as they give willing of their time for which they receive
I first must say you'll never know,
How much you've saved my life.
You may feel less but really Iím blessed,
You helped removed so much of my strife.
I was not happy and felt lost at times,
You helped me settle down.
Just being there and listening with care,
Helped keep me from skipping town.
I know you feel you didn't do much,
But I'm here to tell you you free.
Without your love and regard for my life,
I don't know where I would be.
So please pay attention to what I am saying,
As this is so very grave.
I must thank you for seeing what I didn't know was there,
You have no idea what you have gave.
Volunteers are not the only people with whom we should show appreciation
and be thankful for, you may want to share the following poems -
People in My Life, poetry that reflects on family and all they do for us.
and, also here is a poem written for a husband,
Thanks for My Husband. There are always
people to thank but, many times in our lives we get busy and
often don't take the time to express our thanks and appreciation with those who are important to us.
Take the time to say I appreciate you and thank you.
