A Short Poem about Life

On The Road Less Travelled

On the road less travelled
the full moon is my only guide
while on that road I firmly stride
my destiny awaits me somewhere far away
but I know I will get there some day

On the road less travelled
where only a few dared
ventured, but run away scared,
away from ordinary, beaten track
I'm carrying all my possessions on my back

On the road less travelled
listening to some inner voice
it seems that I've made my choice
overcoming so many sharp bends and turns
with a desire that almost burns

On the road less travelled
which disappears somewhere in the distance
among misty, rolling hills
awaits only hardship, derision, resistance
so narrow, so steep, but it thrills

On the road less travelled
are those who don't follow the herd
always doubtful, using their own head
who the rest might call nerd
never understood, laughed at instead

On the road less travelled
one is a company, two is a crowd
am I plain stupid or just too proud
if I don't want to ask anybody for advice
is it my blessing or sacrifice?
