  1. Frustration
    Poet: Julie Hebert, © 2011

    In life there are,
    So many frustrations.
    It all depends,
    On how we approach them.

    There are times,
I could sit down and cry.
    But then I realize,
That's a waste of my time.

    My time is better spent,
    Fixing the problem.
    Crying would only,
    Land me at the bottom.

    So get on up,
    And hold your head high.
    It's time for you too,
    Let your frustration slide by.

  3. Don't Give In
    by Catherine Pulsifer

Though you feel like giving in
    And surrender to despair
    When temptation is to quit
    The challenge isn’t too fair.

    Take a break, think again
Don’t let the hope slip away
    For when frustration sets in
There could be yet another way.

Don’t label it as a defeat
    Remember previous successes so sweet
    Push forward, trying something new
Take courage, try again with a different view.

  5. Feeling Frustration
    Poet: Unknown

Today before you think of saying an unkind word–
think of someone who can’t speak.

Before you complain about the taste of your food–
think of someone who has nothing to eat.

Before you complain about your husband or wife–
think of someone who is crying out to God for a companion.

Today before you complain about life–
think of someone who went too early to heaven.

Before you complain about your children–
think of someone who desires children but they’re barren.

Before you argue about your dirty house, someone didn’t clean or sweep–
think of the people who are living in the streets.

Before whining about the distance you drive–
think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.

And when you are tired and complain about your job–
think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job.

But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another–
remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to one maker.

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down–
put a smile on your face and thank God you’re alive and still around.

    Life is a gift –
Live it, Enjoy it, Celebrate it, and Fulfill it.

  7. Don't Be Frustrated
    by Catherine Pulsifer

A task put aside today is a future in dismay.
    A much bigger burden once procrastination plays;
The abruptness of time, no escape or reprieve,
Success is denied by leaving it, rather than achieve.

Resulting in frustrations; a tragedy plain to see,
For yesterday's work is not leaving tomorrow free.
Don't be frustrated by things not being done
Do it today so that tomorrow you don't run.

  9. We All Feel It
    by Catherine Pulsifer, © 2020

In life, we all feel it
The times when we have to bite our lip
We feel like throwing up our hands
Or digging in our heels and taking a stand.

Frustration is the feeling that I'm talking about
The times we feel annoyed or put out.
We can stay frustrated and let the stress mount
Or we can stop and to ten we count.

We may not be able to change what has happened
But we don't need to feel like we are flattened
Take a breath and stand back
    Take a moment to relax.

Sometimes it is best to walk away
And come back to it another day.
The frustrating  feeling can be changed
It is our attitude that we must rearrange.

So next time you have that feeling creep up
Don't give in and don't give up
You may have to do it another way
    But realize that is okay.

Life is too short to stay annoyed
If you do your health you destroy
    You can overcome frustration
By building your thoughts on a positive foundation.

  11. Frustration Setting In?
    by Catherine Pulsifer, © 2021

How do you feel when you can't achieve
helping others to be all they can be?
How do you feel when others won't listen
Even when the facts are a given?

Do you feel frustration setting in
    And your patience wearing thin?
What do you do to keep from being blue?
Do you feel like giving up and saying, "I'm through!"

There are many things in life that we can't control.
Keeping our attitude positive should be our goal.
Don't let others discourage and frustrate you
Keep moving forward with what you know is true.

    The emotion of frustration
Is how you react to a situation.
Try to see another's point of view
You can try to present ideas in a way that is new.

Frustration can only cause you stress
It will take away from any progress.
    So let the emotion go
And keep moving forward no matter how slow.
