  1. From One Mother To Another
    Poet: Julie Hebert

    From one mother to another,
There is so much I have to say.
The most important thing to know,
    Is enjoy each magical day.

Yes there are things you should probably know,
On right and wrong ways to raise.
But I really believe you will work it out,
These days go by in a quick daze.

So treasure the time you have to spend,
    Each day with your child.
Don’t worry too much about the little things,
    Pay attention to every smile.

These are the days that you want to never forget,
But sometimes they move too fast.
So slow yourself down, and pay attention,
This day will soon be in the past.

  2. For Mom
    Poet: Charley, © 2003

Sometimes we get busy in our lives each day,
We neglect to tell people things we should say.
As I pondered these thoughts with you in mind,
I realized how important it was for me to find the time.

I want to tell you my thoughts on paper,
So when we 're apart you can read them later.
You've always been there for me this I knew.
You're not just a Mother, but a dear friend too.

You're a very special lady, who showered me with love
I am thankful for you as I've told God above.
This poem could never be sent to any other
Because it's written especially for you, my Mother.

  3. Remember
    Poet: Bob Dew

    Always remember your mother dear,
To you she gave her care,
If it wasn't for her, you wouldn't be here.

When she hurried you off to school,
You thought that she was pretty mean.
But she did it to keep you from being a fool.

Remember how you used to give her flowers,
But not just yearly on Mother's Day.
The flowers of love were spread on her way.

  4. Just A Little Thought
    Poet: Peter F. Mainguy

Just a little thought of you for Mother's day
Though I may be thousands of miles away,
I want you to know that you are with me this day
As I sit and write this little ditty this year.
To my eyes comes a little tear.
Because I cannot be with you for Mother's day this year.

Take this little wish for a happy Mother's day as if I were to tell you myself.
'Cause with it goes all the love within your son's own self.
I want you to be happy, cheerful and gay,
'Cause my thoughts are with you for this Mother's Day.

  5. A Mother Is
    by Washington Irving

A mother is the truest friend we have,
    When trials, heavy and sudden,
Fall upon us when adversity takes the place of prosperity
When friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine,
Desert us when troubles thicken around us,
Still will she cling to us,
And endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to
    Dissipate the clouds of darkness,
And cause peace to return to our hearts.

  6. Mother
    Poet: Margaret E. Sangster

For mother in lowly cabin, or mother in palace hall,
Is ever the truest and dearest, and ever the best of all.
Mother with hands toil-hardened, mother in pearls and lace.
The light of heavenly beauty shines in her tender face.
