An Environmentally Safe Cleaning Solution Cleaning Tips Using White Vinegar by Catherine Pulsifer - Mix ½ teaspoon of light olive oil and ¼ cup white vinegar. This will clean your wood furniture just as effectively as any store bought product, plus is much cheaper!! - Stains caused by grass, coffee, tea, fruits and berries are often difficult to get out. Soak clothing in full strength vinegar and then wash as usual. - To clean your coffee makers, fill the water reservoir half way with white vinegar and then run the coffee maker as you normally would. Then fill the reservoir with water and run the water through it. - To clean paint from windows, heat vinegar and then use a cloth to wipe away the paint. (submitted by Karen H) - To clean silk floral arrangements, fill a spray bottle filled with vinegar. When the silk arrangements get dusty, spray them lightly. This quickly gets rid of the dust and my arrangements look new again! - To clean your fiberglass showers, heat white vinegar so it is warm, then put in a spray bottle. Spray on the fiberglass shower walls and wipe with a sponge. Your shower walls will sparkle. - To clean your Eye Glasses, mix 1 tablespoon to 4 ounces of water. Put in a spray bottle and clean your glasses. Does a great job. - To clean ceramic tile floors, mop the floors with a mixture of white vinegar and warm water. The floor will sparkle and there will be no damage to the grout. (submitted by Julie L) - To clean out the hoses and unclog any soap scum in your washing machine, pour one cup of white vinegar into your washer, and run it through a normal cycle without any clothes in the machine. - To clean your shower head, unscrew the shower head and remove the rubber washer. Put the head in a pot filled with equal parts of white vinegar and water. Bring to a boil, then simmer for five minutes. -To get rid of any rings in your toilet bowel use pure, undiluted white vinegar. First, flush the toilet to so that the water level will go down. Quickly pour the undiluted vinegar around the inside of the rim, and then scrub down the bowl. - Fill a spray bottle with 2 parts water, 1 part of white vinegar and 1/4 teaspoon of dishwashing liquid and you end up with a great solution for cleaning glass and stainless steel. Cooking Tips Using White Vinegar:
- when boiling eggs add 2 tablespoons of white vinegar for every liter (quart) of water, this

- when poaching eggs, add a couple of tablespoons of vinegar to the water, this
keeps the egg whites from spreading
- to improve the texture when cooking white fish, add a few drops of vinegar when cooking
- to relief the itching caused by mosquito and other bites, dipped a q-tip or
cotton ball in white vinegar and apply on the bite.
- help dry up a cold sore by dabbing it with white vinegar three times a day
- Pour a little white vinegar on the grass that is growing through the cracks on your sidewalk. It will kill the grass, but will not harm the environment.
- clean you car windshield blades by wiping them with white vinegar, this

- DO NOT use vinegar on surfaces made of marble, the vinegar can dull the finish
