A Short Love Poem

Untie Me
Poet: Ayesha Van Kesteren

Untie me, I need to feel free
You promised me independence,

But you chose to forget
Look at me, I want freedom

Untie me, I need to stand out
You promised me glamour,

But you chose to be ugly
Look at me, I want to shine

Untie me, I need some colour
You promised me golden brown

But you chose to be tedious
Look at me, I want to be beautiful

Untie me, You need my help
You promised yourself change

But you chose to stagnate
Look at you, donít you want my help

Untie me, Let me help you
I promise you change

But only if you choose to let me
Look at you, you can be beautiful
