A Persistent New Year by Catherine Pulsifer The New Year had begun and Susy was feeling overwhelmed. She felt she had not accomplished much last year and now the year was over. She started many projects but never seemed to find the time to complete them. She was feeling frustrated. She sat reading a book of quotes and found one that she thought was pretty nifty. She wrote the quote on a piece of paper and taped it on her desk. The quote was, "persistence prevails when all else fails." She found other nifty words about being persistence which she jot down
in a book:
"Permanence, perseverance and persistence in spite of all obstacles, discouragement, and impossibilities: It is this, that in all things distinguishes the strong soul from the weak." said by Thomas Carlyle "Persistence is to the character of man as carbon is to steel." said by Napoleon Hill "A little more persistence, a little more effort, and what seemed hopeless failure may turn to glorious success." said by Elbert Hubbard She reflected on the past year and the quotes she had just read and realized she was not being persistent enough. The quote sat on her desk as a reminder of her new goal for this coming year. That goal? To be persistent, to finish what she started, and not become discouraged! |
