A Story of Persistence

The New Year had begun and Susy was feeling overwhelmed. She felt she had not accomplished much last year and now the year was over. She started many projects but never seemed to find the time to complete them. She was feeling frustrated.

She sat reading a book of quotes and found one that she thought was pretty awesome. She wrote the quote on a piece of paper and taped it on her desk.

The quote was, "persistence prevails when all else fails."

She found other inspiring words about being persistence which she jot down in a book:
"The most essential factor is persistence - the determination never to allow your energy or enthusiasm to be dampened by the discouragement that must inevitably come." said by James Whitcomb Riley

"Permanence, perseverance and persistence in spite of all obstacles, discouragement, and impossibilities: It is this, that in all things distinguishes the strong soul from the weak." said by Thomas Carlyle

"Persistence is to the character of man as carbon is to steel." said by Napoleon Hill

"A little more persistence, a little more effort, and what seemed hopeless failure may turn to glorious success." said by Elbert Hubbard

She reflected on the past year and the quotes she had just read and realized she was not being persistent enough. The quote sat on her desk as a reminder of her new goal for this coming year. That goal? To be persistent, to finish what she started, and not become discouraged!

Are you persistent enough?
