Prince Edward Island is surrounded by water, which results in wonderful scenic routes. There
are three marked routes for you to drive:
The island has plenty of things to see and do. To list only a few:
Prince Edward Island is located in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, and is
connected to mainland New Brunswick by
the Confederation Bridge.
The two major cities on the island are:
Charlottetown - the capital city. Known as Canada's birthplace as the Fathers of Conferderation met on Prince Edward Island.
Summerside - take a walking tour of the historic district and enjoy the many historic murals around the city.
There are lots of small towns in between the two cities for you to explore.
The population on Prince Edward Island is 135,294 (according to the 2001 census data).
The main industries in Prince Edward Island are agriculture, tourism, fishing and forestry. Agriculture
is the largest industry, and potatoes are the main crop.
