One Question to Reduce Your Stress

I have read many books on stress relief. All of them have good tips and strategies for relieving stress. But the best stress relief tip I ever received was from a colleague. The tip was in the form of a simple question. I was amazed at how this one question actually did relieve my stress.

A few years ago, when I found myself stressed, my colleague asked me the question, "Will this matter in 5 years from now?".

I can remember the situation clearly and when I thought of the issue that was causing me stress I realized that the situation would not matter in 5 years. Almost instantly my stress levels reduced and I found I had a clearer perspective on the issue.


That question has stayed with me over the years, and when I find myself stressed, I think of the question below:


"When you find yourself stressed, ask yourself one question:

Will this matter in 5 years from now?


If yes, then do something about the situation.

If no, then let it go."

A simple but very effective way to lower your stress levels!
