Mothers Day is a day to honor your Mom and the special women in your life. It is a day that is celebrated around the world. No matter where you live in the world, the one thing we all have in common is that we all have a Mother. In North America, it is celebrated and recognized on the second Sunday in May.

Make sure you tell your mom just how much she is loved and appreciated not just on mother's day but throughout your life. After all, we only have one Mom!

  2. Dear Mother
    Poet: Althea Randolph

    Dear Mother,
If every thought of mine for you
    Could turn into
    A violet blue,
Then on a flowery path you'd stray,
    For violet-thoughts
    Would pave your way.
    Dear Mother!

  3. Happy Mother's Day To A Special Mom

    Happy Mother's Day to You
May it be happy through and through
I want to say I love you so

How much you are loved and appreciated too
I am so thankful for all you do
You have positively influenced my life
And are always there when I faced strife.

  5. For Mother
    Poet: Julie Hebert

    Today I sit and reminisce,
    Of all my wonderful days.
Having a mother just like you,
    I was always quite amazed.

You never seemed to wither out,
You kept up to our pace.
No other mother had your zip,
    Nor your wit or grace.

I’d have to count myself lucky,
To have a mother like you.
Even when I felt down and blue,
You always knew what to do.

So thanks for being a mother like you,
The best that I can see.
You’ve done really well to raise us here,
To me,  you will always be so dear!

  8. My Mother
    Poet: Franklin Bell

    Beautiful is my mother,
And sweet as she can be,
    I love her very much,
And I know that she loves me.

    She has my dinner ready
    When I come home at noon;
I'll try not to say a bad word,
    For Mother's Day is soon.

  9. Number 1 Mom
    Poet: B. Rivers, © 2012

No matter how old I am
I always remember what you taught me
    The values,  right and wrong
Have guided me through many a day

Thank you, Mom, for all you do
Thank you, Mom, for all you've done
    Always remember in my books
You will be my Number 1.

  10. Mother's Day Is Every Day
    Poet: Julie Hebert, © 2012

Mother's Day is but once a year.
    A normality that isn't right.
Mothers should be celebrated every day,
This is up to you to be made right.

Mothers have given each of us,
So much to be grateful for.
They've given, gone without, and done all they can,
To make sure we had the chance to soar.

And this is why one day a year,
    Just isn't remotely enough.
Each and every day of the year they deserve,
Breakfast in bed and their pillows fluffed.

If I know my mother this would not be allowed,
And she'd say nothing should be done.
So a little thank you's and lots of hugs and kisses,
Every day shows you appreciate your Mom.

  14. My Mother
    Poet: Ann Taylor

Who fed me from her gentle breast.
And hushed me in her arms to rest.
And on my cheek sweet kisses prest?
    My Mother.

When sleep forsook my open eye.
Who was it sung sweet hushaby
And rocked me that I should not cry?
    My Mother.

Who sat and watched my infant head
When sleeping on my cradle bed,
And tears of sweet affection shed?
    My Mother.

When pain and sickness made me cry,
Who gazed upon my heavy eye.
And wept for fear that I should die?
    My Mother.

Who dressed my doll in clothes so gay.
And taught me pretty how to play.
And minded all I had to say?
    My Mother.

Who ran to help me when I fell.
And would some pretty story tell.
Or kiss the place to make it well?
    My Mother.

Who taught my infant lips to pray.
And love God's holy Book and day,
And walk in wisdom's pleasant way?
    My Mother.

And can I ever cease to be
    Affectionate and kind to thee.
Who was so very kind to me,
    My Mother.

Ah! no, the thought I cannot bear.
And, if God please my life to spare,
I hope I shall reward thy care.
    My Mother.

When thou art feeble, old, and grey,
My healthy arms shall be thy stay,
And I will soothe thy pains away,
    My Mother.

And when I see thee hang thy head,
Twill be my turn to watch thy bed.
And tears of sweet affection shed.
    My Mother.

For could our Father in the skies
Look down with pleased or loving eyes
If ever I could dare despise
    My Mother.

  15. The Mother
    Poet:  Robert William Service (1874 - 1958)

There will be a singing in your heart,
    There will be a rapture in your eyes;
You will be a woman set apart,
You will be so wonderful and wise.
You will sleep, and when from dreams you start,
As of one that wakes in Paradise,
There will be a singing in your heart,
There will be a rapture in your eyes.

There will be a moaning in your heart,
    There will be an anguish in your eyes;
You will see your dearest ones depart,
You will hear their quivering good-byes.
Yours will be the heart-ache and the smart,
    Tears that scald and lonely sacrifice;
There will be a moaning in your heart,
There will be an anguish in your eyes.

There will come a glory in your eyes,
    There will come a peace within your heart;
Sitting 'neath the quiet evening skies,
Time will dry the tear and dull the smart.
    You will know that you have played your part;
Yours shall be the love that never dies:
You, with Heaven's peace within your heart,
You, with God's own glory in your eyes.

  16. Mother! The Greatest Of All Earthly Friends
    by Burton A. Washburn

Friends may praise you, they may crown you with roses for your success in life. The same friends may hurl stones of slander and crush your body to earth because you failed in your efforts.

But there is a friend who will place her arm around your neck and
whisper words of encouragement in your ear when you are worried and depressed.

There is a friend who will bathe your aching head,
and rub those tired arms, when illness overtakes you.

In the last hour of your earthly life when the soul travels along
the hallway of darkness, and last spade of earth is thrown over your lifeless form, this friend will kneel by your resting place, and ask God for
the safe deliverance of your soul to the heavenly gates of Paradise.

When the curtain of tears covers the eyes of this friend a vision appears to her - that of a baby playing upon Nature's carpet of velvet green.
She unlocks the door to her soul,
replaces the picture revealed to her through tears,
and frames it with spiritual settings from heaven.

That friend, and the greatest of all earthly friends is Mother

  17. Name of Mother
    Poet: Unknown

There are soft words murmured by dear, dear lips,
    Far richer than any other:
But the sweetest word that the ear hath heard
Is the blessed name of "Mother."

O magical word may it never die
From the lips that love to speak it,
Nor melt away from the trusting hearts
That even would break to keep it.

Was there ever a name that lived like this?
Will there ever be such another?
The angels have reared in heaven a shrine
To the holy name of "Mother."
