A Frugal Living Tip
Making New Crayons From Little Bits and Pieces of Your Children's Crayons

by Laura Williams

Don't throw those little bits and pieces or the stubby little crayons away, make "NEW" crayons with them.

You can make what my kids call "Crayon Cookies" simply by following these directions:

1. Line a muffin pan with muffin paper or tinfoil,

2. Put in some of crayon bits, you don't need a lot,

3. Then put in the oven on 250-300 degrees to melt, slightly enough to hold together. (don't melt them completely or you'll have blob of dark colored cookie)

4. Take muffin pan out of oven and let cool completely.

5. Pop out and peel off the paper/foil and voila... you have crayon cookies.

The "crayon cookies" will have a variety of colors if you mix bits and pieces of different colored crayons.

These are easy for small hands to hold and color with.

They also make wonderful homemade gifts for your children, grandchildren, etc. combined with some printable coloring pages that you made into a book or with store-bought coloring books.
