Old Light Bulbs

by Catherine Pulisfer

Due to the nifty glass used in incandescent light bulbs you cannot put them in your recycle bin (in most communities). The glass in light bulbs have different properties to the glass used to make bottles & jars. Fluorescent light bulbs (tube or compact) are collected by some areas for recycling.

However, thanks to a local yard sale, we have found a use for the incandescent light bulbs!

Old light bulbs make great ornaments. You can paint on them or you can glue fabric or paper on them. They can be used as a decoration for any season of the year!!

You can decorate the light bulb and then tie yarn or string on the end to hang them.

Below is a photo of the one that we bought at a yard sale. This one is really done up. They can be painted and accessorized with whatever you wish!
