Enjoy this collection of easy poems to understand. Some poems are a bit complicated and
we sometimes are not sure of what the Poet is trying to communicate. This collection contains
verses that are easy to comprehend and the message is clear.
Similar to our lives, things sometimes happen that leave us perplexed and we
can't figure out why a certain thing has happened. Poetry is the same, some poems are easy to figure out and others don't make sense. We hope you
enjoy the wisdom and the messages in these.
It takes years to build up trust, but only seconds to destroy it.
You can get by on charm for about fifteen minutes.
After that you'd better know something.
Don't compare yourself to the best others can do,
But to the best you can do.
It's not what happens to people that's important.
It's what they do about it.
Always leave loved ones with loving words.
It may be the last time you see them.
You control your attitude or it controls you.
It isn't always enough to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Your background and circumstances may have influenced who you are,
But you are responsible for who you become.
Even if you do the right thing for the wrong reason,
It's still the wrong thing to do.
With all your faults I love you still,
With all your faults I always will.
But if I should endeavor to
Point out those very faults to you,
Saying, "Herein is where you're wrong,"
I doubt if you would love me long.
And if you started in detailing
My each and every little failing,
All listed--it is understood--
Exclusively for my own good,
I'd find, although you summed them rightly,
My love evaporating slightly
With all our faults we love each other;
But pointing out to one another
Exactly where and how we err
Won't boost love's ante, as it were.
We have our faults, but, darling, pray
Let's leave 'em lay, let's leave 'em lay!
Forgive and forget
the mistakes people make
We’ve all fallen guilty to
giving less then we take
Share love, laughter and positive feelings
And you'll begin to see that life is worth living!
Bells of the forest, ring all your changes! —
Give us your merriest, cheeriest chime;
The new-bom prince of the House of Time.
Northern cedar and southern lime.
Yield of your perfume, your incense olden:
Wood nymphs, weave your harmonious rime!
Sunrise, light all your candles golden!
Bells of the forest, ring your cheer!
Hail to the monarch, the Glad New Year!
Lukewarm lemonade in a dixie cup.
The little girl who made the batch,
must have fouled it up.
Much too sweet and watered down,
It wasn’t worth a dime.
But as I sipped, she looked so sweet,
I said it tasted fine.
Her cardboard sign was cluttered up,
I drank and read the jingles.
“Ten sense ech” and “whil it lazts”
(I paid her with a single)
She stood there half bewildered,
Her smile became a frown.
She said she couldn’t change the bill,
Her folks were not around.
I watched her struggle counting change,
And then she gave a sigh.
She asked me softly, in distress,
if I could multiply.
But when I told her “keep the change"
A smile came to her face.
And then I knew, at least the day,
Hadn’t gone to waste.
At this, the sweetest season of the year,
I love to watch, wherever I may be,
the grand-dads and the grannies, all so dear,
choosing the toys to hang upon the tree.
Ah! see them gaze into each other's eyes.
Their children's children! Buying toys for them!
Such love as theirs the flight of time defies and
Happiness gives each her diadem.
A charming sight, indeed it is,
to see grandparents choosing for the Christmas Tree.
You got to sing like you don't need the money
Love like you'll never get hurt
You got to dance like nobody's watchin'
It's gotta come from the heart
If you want it to work.
Curly locks, what do you know of the world,
And what do your brown eyes see?
Has your baby mind been able to find
One thread of the mystery?
Do you know of the sorrow and pain that lie
In the realms that you've never seen?
Have you even guessed of the great unrest
In the world where you've never been?
Curly locks, what do you know of the world
And what do you see in the skies?
When you solemnly stare at the world out there
Can you see where the future lies?
What wonderful thoughts are you thinking now?
Can it be that you really know
That beyond your youth there are joy and ruth,
On the way that you soon must go?
A Home is made of many rooms to rest, to sleep, to shower,
To play, and read, and talk a lot, do hobbies by the hour.
But the kitchen, ah, the kitchen is a room that's made of dreams
Of fantasies...created by a love of cooking schemes.
To touch, to smell, to visualize, the wonders that occur...
And then to taste, and then to taste results of things that were made.
At one time just "ingredients", in their places on the shelves
But become a wondrous mixture As though transformed by elves.
Yes, a home is made of many rooms, each one has it's pleasures
But the kitchen is the best of all for finding hidden treasures.
