Through modern science we know that it is physiologically impossible to be fearful and thankful at the same time. So when you find yourself feeling stressed about work, the kids, bills, house work, and the hundreds of things on your to-do list, start identifying what you are thankful for and start saying your thank you’s.

Where fear and stress increase your energy temporarily by activating your fight-flight response and increasing the amount of stress hormones coursing through your body, if continued regularly over the long term, these same stress hormones drain your energy and slowly kill you. It’s no wonder over 60% of doctor visits are due to stress related conditions.

To override your fear and stress based response system you can tap into the power of thank you.

Make a list right now of all the things you are thankful for and the next time you feel stressed, start saying your thank you’s repeatedly until you feel your stress and fear disappear. You’ll notice a difference immediately.

By being thankful you focus on what is “good” in your life rather than what is “wrong”. You focus on positive energy instead of negative energy and most importantly you don’t continually fuel and ignite your fear based response system that often leads to fatigue, burnout and depression.

When you are thankful you focus your energy on the present moment—where it is the greatest. You fuel your life with trust and love instead of fear and doubt. And you become a magnet that attracts positive people and events in your life.
