Recycle, Reduce, Reuse Tips Empty Cereal Boxes by Catherine Pulsifer
- we cut the boxes and use the cardboard to place between an item
that we don't want to be bent when mailing
- to store magazines that we want to keep for future use, we cut the cereal
box on the side and the magazines easily slide in and out. We reinforce the
top with heavy tape. (we sometimes decorate the box by gluing old material
or using leftover wallpaper)
- when our children were little, we would cut out the letters and use the letters
for making craft items.
- the cardboard from the cereal boxes makes for great book coverings.
- you can reduce the number of boxes by buying the large boxes of cereal
- eliminate the boxes all together, buy your cereal at bulk food stores! Put the cereal in a reusable plastic container to keep the cereal fresh.
