9 Be Thankful Poems
Be inspired by these be thankful poems. Find verses to remind us that we all have much to be thankful for each and every day.Be grateful for all that you have in your life. Many times we take life and what we have for granted, we strive for more but not taking the time to appreciate and give thanks for what we have. As Oprah Winfrey said, "Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough."
Many times we take life for granted, however, from his book, Simple Reminders, Bryant McGill writes, "The best way to be thankful for the gift of life is to not throw it away." Truly words of inspiration!

Be Thankful
Poet: Julie Hebert, © 2015
Be thankful for life,
And all that it holds.
The goods and the bads,
Even those colds.
Colds are unwanted,
And even despised.
But having a cold means,
I am quite alive.
The jobs that we work,
Each and every day.
May not be much fun,
But it comes with pay.
There may be a lot,
That we consider bad.
There are two sides to everything,
Find what it is that makes you glad. -
Life Still Has A Meaning
Poet: Unknown
If there is a future there is time for mending-
Time to see your troubles coming to an ending.
Life is never hopeless however great your sorrow-
If you're looking forward to a new tomorrow.
If there is time for wishing then there is time for hoping-
When through doubt and darkness you are blindly groping.
Though the heart be heavy and hurt you may be feeling-
If there is time for praying there is time for healing.
So if through your window there is a new day breaking-
Thank God for the promise, though mind and soul be aching,
If with harvest over there is grain enough for gleaning-
There is a new tomorrow and life still has meaning. -
Be Thankful For
by Lailah Gifty Akita
There are so many things to be thankful for;
The gift of being alive,
Blessings of a new day to hope and dream,
The gift of families, the gift of children,
The gift of friends, gift of people who make you laugh and smiles,
The gift of strangers who show you kindness,
The gift of nature,
Gift of educators,
Gift of preachers
And many more. -
Be Thankful And Give Thanks
by Catherine Pulsifer
Appreciate the beauty found in nature
Be grateful for the people in your life who love you
Be glad for each new day you get to experience

Thanks
by Christie Lund
Thanks, thanks for the privilege of living,
For the glory of growth, the peace of forgiving.
For the sight of the hills when the dusk is grey.
For the crimson of dawn and the gold of day,
For the friendship that reaches a kindly hand.
For love with its power to understand,
For the long, white road we can walk along.
For companionship and the love of home,
For the trees that quiver against the sky,
For birds, that go winging and singing by.
For hearts of faith through the midnight dark,
For the reassurance of morning's lark,
For the countless things that cause tears to start,
But most. Lord, thanks for a thankful heart. -
Every-Day Thanks
Poet: Frank Walcott Hutt
Haste not, dear heart, too fast and far
To reaping days,
To find what gifts and treasures are
Meet for thy praise,
Nor wait, as thou hast done, to sing
Thy sweetest thanks at harvesting.
Just at thy gate a garden blooms
With life and song,
And in the fields a thousand looms
Hum all day long.
Lo! all these golden summer days
No toiling vale its thanks delays.
Be glad to-day, dear heart, for all
Each season gives.
Let come what may to speed the fall,
The present lives.
No creature hath one reason why
A thankless day should hurry by. -
The Little Things
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
Be thankful for the little things
For to our life, happiness they bring
Be thankful for family and friends
We never know when life will end
Be thankful for the air we breathe.
For the flowers, grass and trees.
Be thankful for the sunshine in the sky
And for the birds that fly.
Be thankful for the rain that falls
And for snow that make snowballs.
Give thanks each and every day
And you will wash away the gray. -
Be Thankful
Poet: Charles Mackay
Be thankful for the gifts
That bounteous Heaven bestows:
Enjoy them while they last,
Nor mourn the fading rose.
The world would weary
Did night not follow day,
And Spring herself would perish
If every month were May. -
Thankful For The Stars
Poet: Charles Mackay
That earth's no paradise
We know as well as you.
What then? you dark, dull soul!
Suppose in the deep blue sky
There never was seen a star;
Suppose the bounteous earth
No more brought forth a flower,
And trees were barren sticks,
Like you, my worthy friend!
Go away, grumbler! go!
And, ere you talk again
Of the utter misery
And darkness of the world.
Be grateful for the flowers;
And if your purblind eyes.
My most respectable friend.
Can dare to look so high,
Be thankful for the stars.
